Open-source intelligence is a dual-use technology. The same phone-number lookup that helps a fraud analyst trace a scam ring can, in the wrong hands, be used to stalk, harass, or endanger a real person. This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) is a hard binary. If you violate it, we terminate your account immediately, forfeit your credits, blacklist your payment method, and where the conduct is criminal, cooperate with law enforcement.
This AUP is part of, and incorporated by reference into, the Terms of Service. Capitalized terms have the meanings given there.
1. Prohibited Uses
You may not use the Service to:
- Stalk or harass any person. This includes cyberstalking, repeated unwanted contact, threatening communications, coordinated harassment campaigns, and any activity that would violate an anti-stalking or anti-harassment law in the jurisdiction of the person targeted.
- Dox any person. You may not aggregate lookup results to publish, share, or threaten to share a person’s home address, workplace, family members, or other identifying information without their consent, whether on social media, forums, messaging apps, or any other channel.
- Conduct intimate-partner surveillance. You may not use the Service to monitor, locate, investigate, or intimidate a current, former, or estranged spouse, partner, dating partner, or family member, including by proxy.
- Target minors. You may not run lookups on phone numbers you know or reasonably should know belong to a person under 18.
- Conduct unauthorized surveillance. You may not use the Service in a manner prohibited by any state or federal anti-stalking, wiretap, computer-fraud, or privacy statute, including 18 U.S.C. § 2261A (federal stalking), state anti-stalking statutes, or equivalent laws in your jurisdiction.
- Make FCRA-covered decisions. You may not use results, in whole or in part, to decide a person’s eligibility for credit, insurance, employment, housing or tenancy, or a government benefit. LetMeCreep is not a consumer reporting agency and results are not consumer reports.
- Violate the DPPA or GLBA. You may not treat results as motor vehicle records, financial account records, or non-public personal information for any purpose that would require a permissible purpose under the Driver’s Privacy Protection Act or the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act.
- Impersonate law enforcement or act without proper legal process. If you are a law-enforcement officer, you may use the Service only for lookups permitted by your agency’s policy and applicable law; formal requests requiring compulsory legal process must be routed through law-enforcement channels, not the consumer product.
- Resell raw output. You may not repackage, resell, or redistribute raw lookup output without material added analysis and clear attribution of source-data limitations.
- Bulk-scrape or bypass rate limits. You may not use automation, multiple accounts, IP rotation, or any other technique to circumvent our rate limits, credit-consumption metering, or bot-mitigation controls.
- Feed automated adverse-action systems. You may not use results as an input to any automated decision-making system that produces legally significant or similarly significant effects on an individual (including automated denial, ranking, scoring, or profiling for eligibility purposes).
- Violate any applicable law. You are responsible for your own compliance with the laws of the jurisdictions in which you are located and in which the persons you look up are located.
- Attempt to compromise the Service. No unauthorized access, exfiltration of another user’s data, penetration testing without prior written authorization, or interference with the Service’s operation.
2. Consequences of Violation
- Immediate account termination without refund of any credits.
- Blacklisting of the account, email, IP range, and payment method(s) associated with the violation.
- Where conduct is suspected to be criminal, referral to the appropriate law-enforcement authorities and preservation and production of account records, snapshot logs, IP addresses, payment metadata, and communications in response to lawful process.
- Civil action to recover damages, injunctive relief, and reasonable attorneys’ fees where the violation caused harm to LetMeCreep, its users, or third parties.
3. Reporting Abuse
To report a violation, a threat, an attempt to use the Service against you, or a lookup that appears to be part of stalking or harassment, contact abuse@letmecreep.app. Please include as much detail as you are comfortable sharing: the phone number involved, timestamps, any account or contact identifiers you can provide, and a description of the conduct. We treat abuse reports as time-sensitive.

4. Enforcement Discretion
This AUP is not an exhaustive list. We may take enforcement action against conduct that is directionally consistent with what is prohibited above, even if not literally enumerated. We reserve the right to determine in our sole reasonable judgment whether conduct violates this AUP.
